Our Operations

Rescue

Partnering with local community members, food rescue organizations, restaurants, bakeries, we gather food that would otherwise go to waste and create nutritious meals.

Prep

Pandemic times have encouraged a change in how things operate. With small, dedicated teams of volunteers, we are able to successfully prepare nutritious to-go meals. First shift volunteers meet at 7:30am to pick up the donated food. Another team then joins for kitchen duty, recreating the rescues into healthy dishes. Once ready, the meals are packaged in to-go containers and loaded into two cars.

Delivery

Parked in front of St. John’s at 155 Milton Street every Saturday, beginning at 11:00am, one volunteer serves from each car, another directs the socially distanced line one at a time to each car, and in a separate area volunteers offer bread, fruit, drinks, or any extra items we have to share with our guests.

Volunteer

Send us a request to join our volunteer teams. Keep in mind, we are vetting volunteer’s health and keeping our teams small for safety.

Feel free to write to us if you have any questions. We are also open to any local bakers donating bread. A central part of our values includes sustainability, so if you know of any food we could use that would otherwise be thrown away, we will put it to good use. Thank you for being part of our community.
